Kseniya Hnylytska: Legal Alien Machine

Eye Sea Gallery

Ksenia Hnylytska’s personal project with the name Legal Alien Machine is the view of a Ukrainian refugee, her nomadic impressions, her fears and hopes.

In the implementation of the project, there is no need to maintain the illusion of a structured practice. The nomadic experiments and hopeful endeavors of a forcibly displaced person found their refuge in the walls of the gallery. The impression of a system that forces you to become part of a bureaucratic machine, report and integrate, and eventually learn the language of the country in which you live.

Kseniya Hnylytska also highlights the confrontation that somewhat artificially arises between those who left and those who stayed or were forced to stay at home, gradually becoming a military resource. The slightest criticism causes outrage and the so-called effect of rocking the boat.

Kseniya Hnylytska was born in 1984 in the family of artist Oleksandr Hnylytskyi. She graduated from the state art high school and the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. The author of paintings, ceramics and other objects, videos. Co-founder and member of the R.E.P. group from 2004. Lived and worked in Kyiv, moved to Munich since the beginning of the war.
